About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Washington, DC's NoMa neighborhood, Bub and Pop's has quickly become a beloved destination for sandwich aficionados craving bold flavors and generous portions. This spirited sandwich shop and takeout restaurant offers an impressive array of hearty, mouthwatering sandwiches that pay homage to classic American and Italian deli traditions, elevated with a modern twist.

Step inside Bub and Pop’s, and you’re immediately drawn to the lively atmosphere that effortlessly blends casual dining with vibrant social hangout vibes. Spacious indoor seating and a sprawling outdoor patio create the perfect backdrop for everything from a quick lunch to a relaxed gathering. And if you’re in for a little more than just eating, the open pool tables and arcade-style entertainment hint at the fun-filled energy bubbling beneath the surface.

The menu reads like a love letter to sandwiches with standout choices such as the Italian Sub, layered thick with provolone, salami, capicola, and fresh greens, or the indulgent Beef Brisket Stroganoff, which melds tender, savory beef with rich, creamy flavors that linger with every bite. Not to be missed are chef favorites like the Chicken Parmesan and the iconic Philly Cheese Steak, both crafted with carefully selected ingredients and bursting with flavors that ignite your senses.

If you crave something truly special, the Lobster Roll at Bub and Pop’s offers a decadent treat—sweet, buttery lobster meat nestled in a perfectly toasted bun. Meanwhile, lighter yet equally satisfying options like the Ratatouille Sub bring a fresh, herbaceous balance to the menu. Complement your meal with Bub’s house specialty, Bubs and Pops's Petes Potatoes, or dip into the irresistible combination of their crispy chips paired with the creamy French Onion Dip, a customer favorite.

For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert selections are as thoughtfully crafted as the sandwiches. Imagine sinking your fork into the Cookie Of The Day or delighting in the luxurious Oatmeal Walnut and Chocolate Chip Cookie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Sandwich. For a more adventurous palate, the Fried Peanut Butter & Jelly on Cinnamon Swirl Bread Dipped in Funnel Cake Batter with Crème Anglaise delivers a nostalgic yet decadent finale to your meal.

Real customers rave about their experiences here, with Duncan King highlighting the “absolutely MASSIVE sandwiches” and the unbeatable value of $20 for an Italian Grinder brimming with extra provolone. The friendly, attentive staff adds to the warm, inviting vibe, while Lagene Lee and friends praise the generous tuna sandwich loaded with fresh toppings and the well-paired chips and dip. Christian Bell’s enthusiasm for the “huge, fresh, delicious sandwich” and the expansive, welcoming space is echoed by many who appreciate the mix of excellent food and convivial ambiance.

Bub and Pop’s also caters to those seeking an afternoon or evening out with their selection of hard seltzers and hard sodas—refreshing Kiwi Strawberry, Pomegranate & Pear, and Cucumber Watermelon flavors provide an uplifting complement to the bold sandwich offerings.

Absolutely MASSIVE sandwiches, I got the Italian Grinder WITH extra provolone and it only came out to $20 or so after tax. Sandwich was super tasty! No wait for seats, lots of open bar space, and open pool tables as well. Staff was very friendly and made sure I was taken care of. I gotta come back for happy hour, as it’s $5 beers! Would absolutely recommend. Come hungry! (Review made 9/5/25 at 4:15 PM)

We tried this for lunch. We were looking for a good sandwich shop. We were visiting & doing a little sightseeing. We decided on the Tuna Sandwich with all the toppings. It was huge! Lots of tuna salad on the bread along with greens, cheese, tomatoes, & pickle relish. We tried their potato chips & French onion dip with them. Everything was good. There was patio outdoor seating. Lots of indoor seating was available. We would go try them again. This seemed to be a new location.

Still my favorite sandwich spot in DC! Just tried out the new location for the first time, and I will be a regular here. Truly the value you get with this enormous, fresh, delicious sandwich is unmatched. Got the Italian hoagie and it was as good as ever. The new space is also huge — inside and outside. Service was super friendly and quick! Not a lot of places doing it like Bub and Pop’s in DC, especially during a trying time for DC restaurants. Support local!

THIS PLACE IS SO COOL! So unexpected, there’s a whole arcade and bowling and everything! I thought this was gonna be a cute little sandwich shop, but it is much more than that! I will definitely be coming back here for an evening out!

Absolutely legendary sandwich spot in DC. I was so glad to discover they decided to to move locations to Noma! I visited when they first opened this new location so menu options were quite limited, but my sandwich was very tasty despite not being my usual order. Although, I got some serious food jealousy towards my friends who ordered the chicken/eggplant parm sandwiches. Staff were very friendly and the new space definitely has strong potential!! It looks like a great hangout spot.
